Operations Manager Joins Stuart Inns

Stuart Inns initiate regional and national expansion strategy with appointment of Operations Manager.

Stuart Inns are pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew South as Group Operations Manager who will be responsible for overseeing their daily running of Stuart Inn's portfolio, while building on their popularity as boutique and gastro places to visit.

Born and raised in Norwich and married with a young son Matthew South brings with him extensive experience gained from the hospitality sector in and around Suffolk and Norfolk.

His first job was a waiter for Whitbread Hotels & Restaurants, still with Whitbread, he progressed to Food & Beverage Manager, staying with them for six years before, wanting to utilise his people and hospitality skills moved on to become Conference and Banqueting Manager at Q Hotels prestigious Dunston Hall, Resort & Spa hotel.

As growth continued in the higher end East Anglian hospitality sector, Matt saw an opening and career advancement at The Hoste Inn, Luxury Hotel & Beauty Spa, Burnham Market, thought by some as Norfolk’s ‘Chelsea’ where he was engaged as Restaurant and Events Manager spending his time wisely, accruing and extending his people and front of house skills.

Ever ambitious, Matt, now recently married and wanting to further his guest and people knowledge moved to the Gough Group owners of the Angel and Salthouse hotels and Southwold Pier, taking over as deputy General Manager at the Angel, Bury St Edmunds where he stayed until this switch to Stuart Inns.

On his new appointment Matthew commented – "I am looking forward to working with the Macmillan family in progressing this great company and ensuring it continues to deliver fantastic experiences for our customers and ensuring our team have a fun and enjoyable environment to work in".
